"AndsvarA- to answer, to be responsible for." The cyclical energy of spring in 2006 spawned a new motivation in Northern Virginia. Winds of change were in the air and a distant embrace from common roots ushered the duty of AndsvarA. Brainchild of atavistic latitudinarian Fionn Himmel (x-Promythium, x-Witch-Hunt, Camulus), AndsvarA is a culmination of different musical genres, personalities, and influence from Northern European integral culture. The creative and energetic rhythm section of drummer Jarrett ‘McCrea' Carter (x-Promythium) and bassist Dave Hurley started rehearsing with Fionn in late May of 2006. Soon thereafter, the trio was lucky enough to meet the talented vocalist and visual artist Kim Dylla (ThisMeansYou, kimdylla.com). It was only a matter of a couple months before a home studio was established, successful shows were played, and a plethora of material ripped itself from the mind of a Bavarian son to then be expelled through modern instruments.
